FOCUS | HAVEN / Schott NYC Perfecto® Leather Jacket

Founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott, Schott NYC is an American original.  In 1928, the brand debuted the Perfecto® leather motorcycle jacket, named after Irving Schott’s favorite cigar and characterized by its asymmetrical placket and rugged, functional appearance. Worn throughout the 20th century by the likes of Marlon Brando, James Dean, The New York Dolls and The Sex Pistols, the jacket is a timeless cultural icon synonymous with the rebellious American free spirit. Still owned and run by the Schott family, the brand continues to manufacture the Perfecto® by hand in Union, New Jersey.

The HAVEN / Schott NYC Perfecto® builds on this distinguished history with subtle modern updates and a contemporary fit. Made in USA.

At the chest is a large patch D-Pocket borrowed from the original 1928 Perfecto® Leather Jacket with a large compartment and metal zip closure with debossed Schott logo. On the D-pocket is a press stud flap coin pocket. Further asymmetrical detailing is seen at the left sleeve which features a re-positioned zip pocket with chain pull.

At the waist is another detail inspired by the original: a detachable thick leather belt used to keep out wind. The belt can be adjusted via a nickel plated brass buckle. The large back panel design, a signature of Schott’s uncompromising Perfecto Jacket quality is further refined with a diamond quilted panel at the hem adding subtle texture and added durability.

The interior of the jacket features a body lined in black and red shadow plaid. Sourced from Japan, this lightweight cotton flannel provides year round comfort. At the collar is a 1960’s era heritage Schott Bro Perfecto® label, silver foil debossed Schott Bro’s hang tab and woven HAVEN garment label.
