FOCUS: Stone Island FW ’18

Stone Island explores the concept of Industrial Strength for its latest Fall/Winter 2018 Collection, with a wide array of product types and aesthetics that share a cohesive design intent. Delivery 1 offers a considerable range of products in vivid garment-dyed hues and highly technical textiles. Sweatsuit styles are featured in brushed cotton fleece and cotton fleece slub, while pants are offered in Stone Island’s distinctive Nylon Metal textile. This collection features a range of overshirts, perfect for the upcoming season change, in cotton and nylon blends. Additional pieces in Stone Island’s Micro Yarn are injected with premium down for insulation and feature a scaled-down rip-stop weave for ultralight durability. Rounding out the first delivery is a selection of graphic t-shirts and premium knit wool beanies.

Available in three variations: hooded, stand collar or with a snap front, these jackets are all made from ultra-light 10 denier calendared fabric made of nylon microfilaments in a rip stop weave. An invisible finish lends substance and improves down retention, even after numerous washes. The garments are padded with the finest down, specially treated to withstand the stress of the garment dyeing procedure. The direct injection of feathers and the lightweight construction of the feather bags enhance the lightness and comfort of the garments. All jackets are Garment Dyed with special dye recipes, with the addition of an anti-drop agent for water resistance.

Stone Island applies one of its most iconic fabrics, Nylon Metal to a selection of utilitarian overshirts this season. The trilobate structure of the nylon yarn, with its gray weft and white warp colours, forms the background for the distinctive metallic sheen of Nylon Metal, one of the most versatile fabrics born of Stone Island textile research. The pieces are all Garment Dyed using a double recipe to produce different shades and colours in the textile fibres. The addition of a special anti-drop agent to the dye recipe adds water-resistance.

An extensive and varied range of fleecewear is offered for the FW18 Stone Island collection. Some items employ Stone Island’s signature OLD effect, an exclusive dyeing treatment and subsequent fading on the finished garment for a slightly worn and three-dimensional appearance while others come in a mouliné cotton with a mélange effect. Premium construction, unique detailing, and Stone Island’s iconic badge are seen throughout the collection.
