'the A' by BEAMS for HAVEN 20th Anniversary Exclusive

In celebration of HAVEN’s 20th anniversary, BEAMS presents an exclusive collection from 'the A', a project that reinterprets American casualwear through a distinctly Japanese perspective. Familiar military and workwear silhouettes are refined through considered proportions, sophisticated construction, and fabrics selected for their depth, texture, and character. The result moves beyond the utilitarian origins of these forms, balancing everyday function with a more elevated expression of design.

Set against the coastal landscape of British Columbia, the editorial moves between the windswept shores of Iona Beach and the historic surroundings of Steveston. Weathered timber, faded facades and muted autumn tones establish a natural backdrop for the collection’s rich textures and softened forms. As the fabrics catch the changing light, their irregularities and tactile qualities echo the surrounding landscape, where time, weather, and use leave their mark. Through this interplay of material and environment, the editorial reflects the A’s understated sophistication and its considered approach to familiar forms.
