HAVEN Spring/Summer 2025 Process

From concept to collection — inside the evolution of Spring'25

I've always believed that the best products aren’t just designed but take on meaning over time. They become familiar companions, shaped by experience, weathered by the elements, and refined through daily use. Each season is another opportunity to build upon what came before—refining, adjusting, and evolving without losing sight of where we started.

For Spring/Summer 2025, I wanted to create a collection that feels effortless yet rugged, sophisticated yet tough —something that blends naturally into the rhythm of everyday life, whether in the city or in nature. The transition from winter to spring is always welcome, especially after spending the better part of winter in Vancouver’s persistent rainfall. The temperature shifts, the colours evolve from deep earth tones to soft, muted hues, and layers become lighter but must still serve a purpose. It’s a time of movement, renewal, and refinement, and I wanted this collection to reflect that.

This season, we traveled to Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island, a place that embodies the kind of stillness I seek when I need to step away from the noise. There’s something about taking the ferry over, leaving the city behind, and settling into a slower pace that allows ideas to come naturally. It’s here, in the calm of the water and the trees, that I find the most clarity—not just in design, and where do we go next, but in life in general.

The development process is never rushed. Every piece is considered and materials selected not just for how they look and feel today, but how they will age and wear over time. This season, we worked with some of the world’s finest mills to custom-develop fabrics that bring both function and character. Weather-resistant Loro Piana wool suiting for refined protection, softened Okayama-woven selvedge denim that only gets better with wear, and lightweight, high-density cottons that breathe and move effortlessly. We also continue our work with GORE-TEX Guaranteed to Keep You Dry™ technology, ensuring ultimate waterproof protection, and GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER®, which provides total windproofing while maintaining breathability. These technologies allow for seamless adaptability, whether navigating shifting urban environments or unpredictable conditions in nature.

The way we build HAVEN today must integrate seamlessly with what came before and what will come next. This is the approach—season after season, refining and iterating, learning from the past to build something better for the future. We’re building not just clothing, but tools for living.
