Stone Island and New Balance come together this season to launch a long-term partnership. Taking an analytical approach to data-driven design, the two brands share values of research, innovation and functionality in their respective areas of expertise. For the first chapter of the partnership, the two icons offer a unique reinterpretation of the innovative RC ELITE v2 racing shoe. The highly breathable upper represents the combination both New Balance heritage aesthetic and cutting-edge materials and techniques with mesh construction and a 3D logo application. This 3D knit mesh upper provides lightweight midfoot structure and features a thin, super breathable, race-ready vamp. Strategic 3D printed medial and lateral logos: the right foot New Balance graphics on the right foot, the Stone Island Compass logo on the left foot. The midsole utilizes New Balance’s most advanced and lightweight FuelCell technology with a full carbon fiber plate for high energy return and propulsive movement. Taking weight-reduction to the extreme, the shoes are finished with a midsole cutout and perforated outsole.
